Tips and Tricks

Lightsaber
SURPRISE!: Don't use the same move over and over, be creative, do what the opponent doesn't suspect! Watch what they do and develop a strategy: (When my opponent is on Heavy Stance I always use Medium Stance and run in and out with quick attacks, this way they will rarely hit me!)
Defense: If your opponent is just using light or medium stance, then go on the defensive, few attacks will get through, and most people on the Internet will often walk into your own lightsaber, but watch out because if they switch to heavy stance they can knock down your defenses.
Saber Throw: Many people classify this as a cheap move, and I agree with them, but only to a certain extent. I believe that saber throw can be a useful move, especially against people on heavy stance, but people who sit their, and saber throw the whole time sicken me. Hint: If the person isn't doing anything and their lightsaber is in the ready pose, then chances are your lightsaber won't hit them, wait for them to start moving or preferably swinging and your lightsaber will have a better chance of doing damage.
Avoiding Moves: Their are three ways to avoid most moves (including saber throw). They are to stand still in the ready pose, moving out of the way, and turning the tables to put them on the defensive.
Special Moves: Each stance has special moves unique to that stance, for example the heavy stance has a move to kill your opponent in one BIG hit...if it hits them. Use these special moves, but don't overuse them.
Take Advantage of the Moment: When an opponent attacks there is a small period where you can get there and hit them while taking next to nothing damage wise. For example, if somebody uses a series of horizontal swipe they will eventually do a spin (if on medium) where they will turn away from you, if you had been sitting there, blocking their hits, swing then, and you will hit them while they are open! If somebody uses saber throw it takes time for their lightsaber to come back, you can hit them while their lightsaber is gone, and do major damage!
Use the Stances: I've seen people say that Medium Stance is the # 1 best stance, but this isn't true, don't believe them! The best stance is to use a combination of each when appropriate.
Dodge: Dodge people's lightsaber, do a force flip over them and then hit them while they are recovering from the surprise! Attacking isn't always just the only thing to do, dodge that lightsaber! A good test for this is to try without your lightsaber on, and see how long you can survive:)
Kicking: Don't forget to kick people! You do this much the same as a force flip, run up to them and flip off of them:) It may knock them down to the ground and does 20 damage ignoring shields (pretty good eh!?). This works very good in duels too!
PRACTICE!: Above all else, practice with your lightsaber! Go into a lightsaber only Free For All, or a Duel Server, and battle some people, practice with your lightsaber, experiment with different moves, its the # 1 way to be as good as possible. Practice in single player also, yavin_courtyard is an excellent mission for this, because there are multiple shadowtroopers and reborn. Desann, while totally different than anybody in multiplayer is also a good opponent to practice on because of the fact that he is so much more powerful than anybody else. Hint: You can get the Jedi/Jedi Trainer's to battle you by using force grip on them!:)

Change your style according to single player and multiplayer, because the gameplay in the two is quite different. If you are playing a free for all you should have different force powers than in a duel, etc.

Dueling
In dueling you can't use force powers (except jump, and saber throw) and you are restricted to lightsaber only. Other players cannot harm you, but they can interfer with the duel by getting in your way and distracting you! Try not to distract people who are in duels, as it is very rude. There are some FFA (Free For All) servers where people just duel with others, one that I like is "Jedi Drikan's Dueling Server" look for it, and you might find me!:)
Starting a Duel: To request a duel with somebody point your crosshairs at them push "k", they will then either accept you by pushing "k" while looking at you, or they will just ignore you and slice you into a million pieces (ouch!). Try to set up a place on a map where everybody duels
ex. Bespin Streets many people duel on the roof and the platform
The Duel: Once in the duel, just fight how you normally would with your lightsaber, you can't pick up items so don't try, but you can use bacta (if you have it)
Winning or Losing: If you lose, it is basically the same as if you have died, except it will say in the center "so in so has defeated so and so". But if you win you are brought back to full health and keep whatever shields/items you had. It will flash in the center of the screen that you have won the duel. Other: There can only be one duel at a time on a server (something I wish could be increased), so if somebody else is dueling you can't duel with another person.
When you are in a duel you are surrounded in a glowing light, to other people it appears that you are darkened with a shade of blue. When you look at other people they are darker than usual. Miscellaneous
Guns: Please, don't overuse these, I've seen too many people that only do well because of the fact that they have a gun, if you give them a lightsaber and tell them to fight they'll die right away. When using guns make sure to experiment with the second modes too, and see what happens:)
Disruptor Rifle: More commonly known as the sniper rifle because of its second function, something to note also is that if you hold down the "trigger" while zoomed in you will power up and do more damage, at max power this thing can kill somebody with one hit! Remember though that this mode uses more ammo.
Portable Missile System: Don't be fooled by the name, this gun isn't as good as it sounds. Sure, it may launch missile's, but people can still survive a couple hits with this, and it doesn't hold much ammo. Right clicking and holding your mouse over a target will give you a "target lock" indicated by red portions of a circle (more full the circle is the better the seeking is) but this uses more ammo, and can still be dodged, but not very easily.

Single Player
Stormtroopers are extremely easy to kill with force lightning, go ahead and try it, it works very well!
Lightsaber Stance: When fighting units with guns, light stance is the best stance for the job, because they are generally weak enough that they will be killed with one hit and lightsaber stance lets you swing just a little bit faster, but every bit counts! When fighting enemies with lightsabers though, you should probably use a combination of stances.
Enemy Stances: The enemies in Jedi Outcast with lightsabers use a variety of stances. Desann uses a special stance: the one handed heavy stance; to get this stance you need to cheat type in setforceall 5 and it is your second heavy stance. It is basically a medium stance, but it does a LOT more damage, a heavy stance that swings as fast as the medium stance...no wonder you have to cheat to get it!:) Other enemies in the game use a combination of attacks. Oh ya, I forgot to mention that sometimes Desann will change stances, so that he can use different moves.
Enemy Force Powers: In general your enemies have weaker force powers than you (if they even have them!), the only exception to this rule is Desann. Desann has extremely strong force powers, that outrank anybody in the game, including you, so watch out! His force grip can hold you, and chances are you won't get out...sometimes force push will work though...just hope to get lucky! Desann also has an extremely strong lightning attack, pull and push. You can't stop him from using pull and push, and no matter what, you'll end up on the ground trying to get up before he kills you. When Desann pushes you onto the ground he'll either come up to you and kill you, or throw his saber and leave it above you until you get up! (Cheap eh?)
Bosses?: There aren't really any bosses in the single player missions, the only people that come close to bosses are Tavion and Desann, but that's it!

Binding Keys
To bind a key you would open up the console (Shift ~) and type in your code
Taunt: This is different in single player and multiplayer, in multiplayer your player says something unique to each character, in single kyle spins his lightsaber in his hand.
bind x taunt (where "x" is the key you want taunt to be) I use = as my taunt key
Victory: In single player this is the same as multiplayer taunt, but it does nothing in multiplayer (believe me, I tried!).
bind x victory (where "x" is the key you want victory to be) I use \ for my victory key.
Well, those are the main oness that most people actually care about;)

My Opinion on Lightsabers Off
My opinion on attacking those who have their lightsaber off is this:
DON'T attack them! How do you like it when somebody attacks you when your saber is off, or when you're typing a message? You don't like it! I try to tell those who do attack me not to, and I give them one warning, after that if they attack people with their sabers off, then I will call a vote to kick them, and most people will agree with me, and they will be kicked! I think that those who attack people with their saber off are cheap, and only do it because they don't know how to do anything else, because they aren't very skilled with the lightsaber. If you have the same opinion as me, feel free to put "SC" in your name, it stands for Saberists Code, meaning you won't attack those who have their saber off and would like others to respect you, and do the same for you. (See Below on this page, under the Heading of Saberists Code)

Force Powers, Cheap?
I say yes, and no! Force powers were put in the game to aid you in your quest, but they aren't to be overused, that is why their is a limit to your "force pool". People who use saber throw, lightning, grip, etc to a huge extent are just cheap, this is why I prefer saber duels:) Hint: you can block force pull and push more easily when you have a full "force pool".

Name Colours
Some of you are probably wondering how to get colours in your name, right? Well, here is the list of how to get all the available colours!
Colored Names
In order to do colored names or colored text, you must do ^#. So as an example if you wanted all blue you would type ^4 TheNameYouWant. The colors are as follows- 1- Red
2- Green
3- Yellow
4- Blue
5- Turqoise
6- Pink
7- White
8- Black

Models
There are many models that you can choose from but there are some models that aren't on the list that you can be. To be these characters drop the console (SHIFT ~) and type "Model model/modelname".
Example: Model Reborn/Acrobat Here is a list of models found so far:
Model Reborn/Acrobat
Model Reborn/Boss
Model Reborn/Fencer
Model Reborn/ForceUser
Model Morgan/Default
Model Jedi/J2
Model Imperial/Commander
Model Imperial/Officer

Also, you can use the team color skins with the model command
Example: Model stormtrooper/blue or Model stormtrooper/red

Biggest Tip!: Here is the biggest tip to the game! Suspense killing you yet?
The Biggest Trick to the game is to have fun! You didn't buy the game just to beat it, you bought it to have fun, besides, its not very easy to beat Desann and his minions when you're not in a good mood, so have some fun, relax a bit!

Well, I'll add more tips as I think of them, if you have anything you want to share, feel free to email me. If I see something interesting on the forums I'll put it up too!
